Detached Cottage and Duplex Cottages
Detached includes two double

Each comfortably sleeps up to 2-3 adults
Hickatee Cottages first opened with these three original rooms, each with a similar layout.
Each room provides flexible sleeping arrangements, a small sitting area with a couch, and features a covered verandah with hammock and seat for you to relax and enjoy the tropical plants and wildlife.
The Detached Cottage room, as its name suggests, is a stand-alone unit for extra privacy.
The Duplex Unit has two adjoining rooms in the same building and is popular with friends and family traveling together, but also adapts well for guests traveling alone.
HICKATEE DEN
1 queen bed, sleeps up to 2 adults
The Hickatee Den is our smallest detached unit, light and airy, with glimpses of the splash pool through the nearby mango tree.
With a queen bed and small front sun deck, it works well for couples who want the privacy of a detached unit but don't need the extra lounging space or verandah of the other rooms.
WILBY SUITE
1 queen bed and a sitting area, sleeps up to 2 adults
Our newest and final addition at Hickatee Cottages is the Wilby Suite, named after a long construction time to avoid noise to our guests. It 'will be' completed soon!
The Wilby Suite is a spacious detached unit with a queen bed, separated from a lounge area by a large curtained archway. The small front deck leads to a garden area with hammock and seats, a private Gazebo and landscaped with butterfly-attracting plants.
SWEET SUITE ("The Sweet")
1 queen bed, sleeps up to 2 adults
Our Sweet Suite ("The Sweet") offers something a little more special for couples.
Originally built as the Hickatee Founder's home, the Sweet is the largest and most private of our cottages, with a large verandah for enjoying a hammock and porch chairs, as well as a small deck at the back of the house surrounded by the jungle setting.
The Sweet offers a spacious accommodation with a queen-sized bed in a separate bedroom, an over-sized bathroom and a large lounge with a vaulted ceiling and locally made rattan furniture.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT HICKATEE COTTAGES
We work very hard to meet and exceed our guests' expectations for customer service and comfort. It's important that we also share the realities of a jungle setting:
> Off-Grid Experience: Off-Grid does not necessarily translate to jungle camping, but at Hickatee we offer the natural surroundings which you will not find in a luxury hotel. We have sufficient battery power for en-suite fans and lighting as well as hot water for relaxing showers, but we do not recommend the use of hairdryers or other high-powered devices.
> Unpaved Roads: While we are only 1.5 miles from downtown Punta Gorda, it can get muddy and our roads develop potholes. This, however, is the trade-off for a pretty jungle location, complete with resident howler monkeys.
> Natural Breeze: Hickatee prides ourselves on offering a great value for your money. Our cottages are fully screened to allow for the fresh, nature breeze to flow through. With this jungle experience, our cottages do not include A/C.
> Safety & Accessibility: Hickatee Cottages is located on a relatively flat ground, and all paths are of gravel rock material. Each cottage has approximately six steps with safety railing and are within a short walking distance of all facility needs. However, due to the nature of the location, Hickatee Cottages is not wheelchair accessible.
> Jungle Flyers. The jungle offers beautiful flora and fauna, but this also comes with the various insects of the jungle. We recommend insect repellent for those more sensitive to our winged friends.
